Google Homepage Doodle Teaches You How to Code

Google is kicking off Computer Science Educational activity Week with an interactive homepage putter designed to teach you how to lawmaking.

The putter turns coding into a game. Your mission: to help a little bunny get to a party and collect carrots along the mode by dragging code blocks together to form command strings. First, you'll acquire how to make the bunny hop frontward. And then, the doodle teaches you how to add together a turn. Finally, you'll learn loops, or sequences of instructions, so you can get the same code to run multiple times in a row.

Google said its Doodle and Blockly teams worked together with researchers from MIT Scratch to develop this putter, which celebrates 50 years of kids coding and is the web giant's start coding doodle ever.

"In the 1960s, long earlier personal computers, Seymour Papert and researchers at MIT adult Logo - the first coding language designed for kids," Champika Fernando, director of communications for MIT's Scratch Team, explained in a blog post. "With Logo, children could program the movements of a turtle, giving them the opportunity to explore ideas in math and science."
